Implementation Management Group (IMG)
The SmartGrowth Implementation Management Group (IMG) are a senior officials group tasked with the implementation and ongoing monitoring processes of the SmartGrowth Strategy.
This Group reports to the Chief Executive's Advisory Group (CEAG) and SmartGrowth Implementation Committee (SGIC) and are the main conduit for the other key SmartGrowth groups and forums (Combined Tangata Whenua Forum, Strategic Partners Forum and Population Ageing Technical Advisory Group).
Purpose and Terms of Reference
- Selects and recommends the appointment of the SmartGrowth Implementation Advisor to the Chief Executives Advisory Group.
- Oversees the implementation plan, in particular the action milestones, with the Independent Chairperson.
- Receives regular reports from the SmartGrowth Implementation Advisor.
- Undertakes and reports on action monitoring and risk management issues via the Independent Chairperson to the SmartGrowth Implementation Committee.
- Maintain close links between SmartGrowth and any other related implementation to help achieve a broadly based sustainable development outcome.
- Examine in detail all briefs for actions assigned to the SmartGrowth Implementation Committee before they are issued.
- Review all action outputs prior to SmartGrowth Implementation Committee presentation.
- Ensure that systems and resources are functioning effectively.
- Ensure that any related studies and investigations are drawn to the attention of the SmartGrowth Implementation Advisor in order to avoid duplication of effort.
- Liaises with the Chief Executives to ensure good understanding and ownership of the project within each of the participating organisations.
Current Membership
Chief Executive (Chairperson on rotational basis), SmartGrowth Implementation Advisor, SmartGrowth Implementation Committee Independent Chairman, two senior representatives (Chief Executive delegates) from each partner council and the New Zealand Transport Agency, Tu Pakari Technical Advisor, Communications advisor and Administrator.
Meetings are held monthly and are not open to the public.
