The Strategy

The SmartGrowth strategy and implementation plan was launched by the Prime Minister the Rt Hon Helen Clark on 14 May 2004. The SmartGrowth strategy is a growth management strategy to ensure that as the Western Bay of Plenty grows, it will continue to be a great place to live, work and play.

The SmartGrowth Strategy underwent an action review and was relaunched on 30 May 2007. You can get a copy of the revised strategy here (2.4 megabytes - about 7 minutes to download on a 56 kb/s connection)
