SmartGrowth is currently developing a strategy that will consider how housing, infrastructure, transport, community facilities and the environment need to be looked at together to achieve effective growth in the western Bay of Plenty.
It is an initiative between central and local government and tāngata whenua as part of the SmartGrowth partnership and will influence the Long-Term Plan 2024-27 for all councils in the western Bay of Plenty sub-region.
The outcomes of the strategy will have an impact on everyone living in the western Bay of Plenty, as it is focused on helping our sub-region grow in a sustainable way that benefits us all.
StoryMaps
SmartGrowth is looking to use StoryMaps as a tool to effectively communicate the new strategy and engage with stakeholders. StoryMaps will give the strategy a stronger sense of place, illustrate the spatial relationships and provide context to stakeholders.
We want to use StoryMaps to demonstrate the Connected Centres approach which underpins the SmartGrowth Strategy.

StoryMaps will be available here in the first half of 2023.
